Camp Roast Beef

  • 1 Large Beef Roast
  • 1/2 Lb. Bacon
  • 1/2 Cup Bourbon
  • 1 Tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tsp. Celery Salt
  • 1 Tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp. Black Pepper
  • Heavy Duty Aluminum Foil


  1. Tear a piece of foil large enough to hold roast and allow for air space, cup edges to hold liquids.
  2. Place the roast on the foil, pour bourbon over the top.
  3. Spice as indicated.
  4. Drape with bacon.
  5. Wrap with foil, leaving air space over the top.
  6. If using strong bourbon,
  7. light so alcohol burns off.
  8. Place on side of low fire.
  9. Cook time is about 20 minutes per pound.
  10. Works well in standard oven at 350°.
